I'm Maria Rylott-Byrd, purist corneotherapist, skin science educator and beauty business mentor, with over 35 years in the beauty industry.
I started out in the 1980's as a Champneys-trained therapist, built my career across UK and international salons, and spent 18 years running my own skin clinic. I know this industry from the inside out, the rewards, the isolation, the self-doubt, the gap between what we are taught and what the science actually says.
When I discovered corneotherapy, everything clicked. It gave scientific grounding to what I had always believed instinctively; that skin health begins with the barrier and that an industry led by brands, rather than biology, was failing both therapists and their clients.
That conviction is what drives everything I do now. I work with corneotherapists and skin professionals who want to go deeper into the science, into their practice and into building a business that reflects what they actually stand for.
